Evicted!

We recently had to evict our upstairs neighbor for making too much noise, tearing up some insolation and starting to become a threat to chew up our house.

This little guy and his friend were trapped up in the attic when Tammy and I sealed off the loovers at the ends of our house with some new wire mesh screen. We did the end that they were getting into a few weeks ago, but then they would just walk across the roof to the other side to get in.

Last Saturday I sealed that one off and then trapped them inside. We fed and watered them for a few days so we didn't have a dead neighbor until we could find a trap to catch them.

The animal control folks brought out a trap and within a few hours after dark on the first night we caught the first on. We thought we only had one, till the noise continued.

At 12:30am I took this one about 2 miles down the road and let him out and re-set the trap to get the next one. However, it out-smarted the trap (and I guess me) by stealing the can with the bait without tripping the trap.

At 2:00am, I added a full can of Tuna in the trap. When I checked it at 6am, it was gone too. Now we have a fat and happy neighbor.

Sometime during the day or early in the morning this one had the strength to chew through some wood and pry some boards to free himself.

Now is the time that I think, "Where is that deposit money? - we had two free-loaders that tore a whole in our house and who is going to pay for that?"

Breakfast in Bed

Last weekend the kids served us Breakfast in Bed. They brought us cereal, toast and OJ. As soon as we finished they went back to bed for "their turn".

I put some more pictures in our photo album, follow the link on the right.

Robinson Visit

We enjoyed the visit with Linda, Renee, Anna, Jeff and Sarah on Sunday. Renee flew down from Seattle to spend the weekend with family. She also brought with her some well needed Seattle weather. This was the first time we have had any precipitation in about 2 months. THANKS RENEE!!!

In the meantime - Sean reported that they in Seattle had their first sunny day in over 25 or something like that. So maybe there is something to this Renee bringing the weather with her thing.

Getting ready for Santa

The kids were getting ready for Santa on Christmas eve eve. Yes since we were not home on Christmas eve Santa came to our house one day early. It is amazing how he knows everyone's situation.

The kids woke up at 5:45am and discovered the cookies had been eaten and found some gifts under the tree!

They were so excited and came woke us up and Santa had filled our stockings as well.

Christmas 2005

We spent Christmas eve over at GrandPa and Nana's. Tracy and Elizabeth were there as well with their new adopted dog: Bo. Yes there were two Bo's their - it did get a little confusing at times when someone called, "Here Bo, come on boy!".

Another highlight of this time was on Christmas morning we took the Christmas tree out and planted it in the backyard.

After a good time at the Hornick's we headed over to Gamma's house where we celibrated Christmas with Gamma, Papa and Momo. Here are a few pictures of that time. Thank you all for the gifts you sent to the kids, they had a wonderful time.

Here is a short video of the kids piano resital. It is 8 minutes long so I had to cut the size way down so that you could download it in a reasonable time.
